Network discovery & visualization

Hosts are presented on interactive maps that display all critical information (leading service response time, services & host down time, alerts etc.), so you can quickly spot problems and focus on them instead of searching for what's wrong.

Monitoring services & host performance

Using either TCP/IP, SNMP or Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), the program can identify and monitor critical network elements: 

•   Systems: Windows, Linux, Unix servers; routers, switches, VoIP, and firewalls
• TCP/IP services (HTTP, POP3, SMTP, FTP and 50 other). You can monitor their response time and percent of requests lost.
• Network interface status changes.
• Performance counters - Windows and SNMP - like CPU utilization, memory, disk space, network transfers, etc.

The program can be installed as a Windows service to ensure continuous monitoring.

Monitoring critical systems

NetVision allows you to monitor your critical systems:

•         Applications: monitor the health of applications such as: MS SQL, MS Exchange, MS IIS, Windows system and many more. 
•            Web site: the program monitors web page load time. You can also set up alerting when a page changes content. 
•            Mail server: a critical system for every company. NetVision not only check to see whether mail server responds to a simple request. It also performs real test operations like sending and receiving e-mail.

You can set up multiple alerts to monitor the status of your systems and receive an alarm whenever they go down or experience problems, like important parameters going out of range.

Alerting

For every monitored parameter, you can define events that trigger notification or corrective action when a host or service is down, when the page content changes, when there are mail server problems, when MS SQL Server parameters go out of range, etc.

Alert actions can be delayed and escalated. Available notifications & actions: e-mail & ICQ message, desktop notification, sound, text-to-speech, running external programs, writing to file. All alerts are stored in the eventlog for future analysis.

Reporting

NetVision provides very clear, real-time, and historical charts of all monitored parameters (services and counters). Such charts can be presented over the desired time range selected right in the program – there is no need to prepare a report. The charts can easily be scrolled, providing fast access to the historical data at anytime.

Furthermore, every event (alert) raised in the program is logged in the database, providing analysis of the performance of all hosts or the whole network. This will help you to access reports about the most problematic hosts in the network, frequent problems, etc.

Environmental monitoring

NetVision is a great base for setting up your IT or production environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, flood etc.).
