Announcing a major ugrade to ContentProtect Professional. CP Pro has always been the ideal product for organizations that don’t want the hassle of a dedicated server, and especially for distributed environments (that is, laptops, laptops, everywhere). Because the filtering takes place ON the box, users can’t get around the filter just by changing locations or access.
If you’re already using CP Pro, here’s the deal: The CP Pro back end server is already live, so your “manage-from-anywhere” web console is already updated-no action required on your part. All you need to do to take full advantage of the new functionality of the new CP Pro is update your clients to the latest version. You can run the old clients with the new admin, of course, but if you want the new stuff like White List mode you’ll need to update the clients. And, of course, like all updates and upgrades, it’s all included in your subscription, no extra charge.
Here are the four major updates in this new release of CP Pro 3.0:
Full SSL Filtering-Other filters fail to address the easiest way to get around Internet Filters-HTTPS websites. These sites are encrypted, and so with most filters, users just navigate to a secure site, where they are invisible to the filter, and then surf to any website they want. But with ContentProtect Professional 3.0, you can fully filter ALL the web traffic on your network, including SSL sites. We don’t just block them, we filter them, closing the hole other products pretend isn’t there.
White List Mode-The Internet is a big place, and some organizations don’t need the distraction. With White List mode, you can simply create a list (as big or as small as you want) of acceptable websites, and block the rest. You can still let people request exceptions or additions to the white list, but the administrator is in charge, not the user. As it should be.
Aggregated and Enhanced Email Notifications-Getting an alert every single time someone gets blocked from visiting an inappropriate website would be like drinking from a fire hose. CP Pro aggregates emails so that you get alerted at intervals and in batches. We have alerts for every conceivable action, so you can rest assured: you get the whole picture, but on YOUR terms.
64 Bit Application Blocking-We close the loop on using 64 Bit applications to get around the filter. Just select the option, and users won’t be able to use a 64 bit browser to hide from you. It’s your network. We help you keep control of it.
